Amazon Giveaway Success!

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s free promotional giveaway of WEDLOCKED on Amazon. My goal in running the promotion was to bring the book to a wider audience — and the KDP Select giveaway did exactly that! A few of the highlights from the campaign:

*WEDLOCKED claimed the #1 spot in Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank in the Marriage & Family division and #2 in Women’s Studies.

*Facebook brought the promotion to more than 30,000 people with a 13% engagement rate (industry average is 6%!).

*The book was downloaded 279 times!

All in all, the promotion was a success — now it’s time to (impatiently) wait for readers to rate and review the book, and hopefully continue bringing the issue of forced marriage to a wider and more diverse audience.

WEDLOCKED To Be Featured On BBC Asian Network

On Tuesday, September 13th, I will be appearing on BBC Asian Network’s news radio program to discuss WEDLOCKED and the issue of forced marriage as a global practice with guest presenter Sonali Shah.

The segment will air live on Tuesday at noon London time, which corresponds to 7 am East Coast time. You can listen live on BBC iPlayer (link here) or find a recording of the segment on the program’s website shortly after broadcast.
